Today went to Sea Breeze my son and husband were at the water rides I sat and watched. At the Helfix I waited at the benches while they took the ride, it's similiar looking to the toilet (LOL!!!!). Under the bench I spotted a nickel, you got it I picked it up :-) . After awhile we got rained on and man did the sky open up and the rain came, all the little kids had a ball running and jumping in the puddles.

A Morning Trip to the Laundry Mat

This morning I went to do laundry, I'm hoping that it will not be busy there and it wasn't, less people the faster I get out. When I got ready to put my clothes into the dryer I found a lone penny. Hmm, haven't lost my touch usually find a coin or two in the machines. When everything was drying I went over to the vending machine to get a snack, also lucky here too, got a bonus nickel in my change.

New Year's Find

Today my husband and I went out to dinner at a Chinese buffett, we meet our daughter and her boy friend there. We all had a good meal and a good time visiting for tomorrow they are returning back to Los Angeles. On our way out of the resturant I spotted a coin at the entrance door, I waited for everyone to walk out so I could pick it up, was a nickel a 1969S.

Great news, on October 26, 2010 I lost my found money, possibly at the beach. I usually carried the bottle in my purse, when I got home it wasn't in there. Today I found that bottle, I had put it into a container that I throw my loose coins into. I thought it was gone forever, this is gonna be a Good Year.

Not a Very Good Day...

This morning I went to two Elementary schools and at each one I didn't get to much. At the first school I did very good there earlier this year, but not today. I found .54 cents in clad, might of done good if I stuck it out there but the grass was wet and I was starting to get cold. I went to the second school not any better found this heart that registered as a penny, it measures 1 1/4" Wide x 1 1/8" High here I found .40 cents. With it being low I called it a day and went home. As someone told me "even a bad day is a good day".

Coin Shooting/treasure hunting: coins- .94; 2 quarters (1967, 1987D), 3 dimes (1967, 1968D, 2002D), 1 nickel (1997P), 9 pennies (1978, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1995, 1996, 2000D, 2002, 2008).

Spiders are Big at the Beach...

Went out detecting this morning, before it gets to Hot, supposed to get up to 90 degrees today. As usual I started out at the TotLot, found a whapping 5 pennies (one was a Canadian penny). I than went into the grassy area, than I started finding some coins. Not far from the Carousel I found this Spider pin, some of the black (I think) Rhinestones where missing. Not long after taking the picture it broke in half, it broke in the area that was missing the stone. I also saw no kind of mark so must of been costume jewelry (found just under the grass roots below soil surface). It registered on my machine in the pulltab/nickel/can slaw range. It's starting to get very warm so I called it a day at 10:30AM.
Coin Shooting/treasure hunting: coins- $2.62; 5 quarters (1979D, (2)1996P's, North Carolina 2000D, Kentucky 2001P), 9 dimes (1967, 1971D, 1978, 1996P, 1998P, 2000P, 2002P, 2005P, 2008P), 1 nickel (2000P), 42 pennies (1961D, 1970 Canadian, 1972, 1972D, (2)1977's, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1985D, 1986, 1987D, (2)1988's, 1989, 1990, (4)1991's, 1993, 1994, 1994 Canadian, 1995D, (3)1996's, (3)1997's, (2)1998's, 2003 Canadian, 2005, (3)2006's, (2)2007's, 2008).

Coin Shooting Morning of August 24, 2010...

I was driving to the beach this morning, spotted 3 deer feeding on the side of the road as I slowed down the car noise caused them to look up at me, a beautiful sight. In this town you can come across areas with deer, last year I saw one running across someones front yard.
Last week at the beach, I talked with a lady nicknamed the "Purple Lady" for she wears purple all the time. She told me that she collects pull tabs for "MS" I told her that I had alot and that she could have them (I have no use for them), she told me who to drop them off to an old gentleman that always sits at the beach, he will give them to her (saw him there many times). I took the bag in today, when I walked up to see if he was the person I spotted a penny on the sidewalk.
Searched a little over an hour the Totlot and some of the grassy area.

Coin shooting/treasure hunting: coins- $1.86; 4 quarters (1967, 1987P, Connecticut 1999P, Arkansas 2003P), 6 dimes (1982D, 1993P, 1996P, (2)2000P's, 2005D), 1 nickel (1987P), 21 pennies (1962D, (2)1971's, 1971D, 1972, 1977, 1978, (3)1983's, 1983 Canadian, 1986D, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2006, (2)2007's).

A Morning at the Beach...

This morning, I went back to the beach to search the park. Not much at all in the TotLot, did find a dime and this pin, had to cut thru the material under the woodchips to get at the pin, it is 1" long x 7/8" at widest point. Has a circle with a green cross and the words on the pin says Rochester Safety Council - the words around the circle says Universal Safety one little word on the bottom is hard to make out. Also found a lot of pennies 13 are pre-1982's. Met some nice people this morning, one couple asked if I found something and at that moment it was a bottle cap but mentioned that my machine registered a quarter and there was still something in the hole, my pro-pointer was buzzing. Ah, got the quarter and a dime. Was out for about 2 hours. The 1969D dime at first thought was a 1960D, no luck after cleaning it a bit more I noticed the 0 was a 9.
Coin shooting/treasure hunting: coins- $1.58; 2 quarters (North Carolina 2001P, South Dakota 2006P), 7 dimes (1969D, 1998P, 1999D, 1999P, 2000P, 2003P, 2007P), 1 nickel (1974), 33 pennies (1968D, 1970, 1972, 1972D, 1973, (4)1974's, 1975, 1976, 1980, 1981D, (2)1983's, (2)1984's, 1986D, 1988, 1989, (2)1990's, 1991D, 1992, 1995, (3)2001's, (2)2007's, (2)2008's, 2010).

Some of this mornings finds...

This morning I was glad to be out detecting, haven't been out with the Ace since Friday morning. Had problems in our neighborhood with neighbors having loud parties (police was called many times from the neighbors) and and the house next to us had a very large group of people 50+ in the small apartment, after they all piled out someone started shooting. This making it a very long sleepless night making Saturday a very tired day and Sunday it rained. I have to say city living is the pits.
I did find these items in the woodchips of the TotLot at the beach also found another Chucky Cheese token 2007, along with alot of clad coins. Did very good at one swing set, at one swing found .62 cents at the other end of the swings found 2 quarters. Dimes were found just about everywhere in the play area.
Did check the grassy area found some more coins. Tomorrow, I will go to some play areas I haven't been to for a while and see if they were re-stocked.

Coin shooting/treasure hunting: coins- $2.82; 4 quarters (Virginia 2000P, North Carolina 2001D, Utah 2007P, New Mexico 2008P), 14 dimes (1982D, 1983D, 1986P, 1987D, 1988D, 1990D, 1991P, 1993P, 1999P, 2003P, 2004P, 2005P, (2)2010P's), 1 nickel (1988D), 37 pennies (1961, 1964D, 1965, (2)1975's, 1975D, (2)1977's, (2)1981's, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, (2)1992's, (3)1993's, 1993 Canadian, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 199?, (2)2002's, (3)2006's, 2007, (3)2008's, 2009).

Went to two parks, the first one not to great found .22 cents. I went to the second location did pretty good, even with the humidity being high. The first coin I found was this 1943P War Nickel next to one of the play equipment, this was the oldest coin found today. I did find a 2009P dime in very good condition, I need it to fill a spot in my dime coin album. At this park I found $1.72.

Rainy start to a Sunday Morning detecting...

This morning I went out detecting, wasn't raining when I got up but when I got ready to leave I saw that it had rained. While driving down the street it started up again pretty hard, as I was going north towards the lake the sky did look brighter. At the last minute I turned onto my sisters street and went to the park that had the quarter spill. It was still sprinkling so I waited til it stopped than went on my way to do some coin shooting. I searched some areas and did okay, I than stopped in an area next to the baseball field where the people sit not the bleachers, I was digging up pennies everywhere. The ground was muddy from the heavy rain last night and this morning, I did find a Canadian dime mixed in with the pennies (2004) which I need in my coin album. I think I'll hit that area again in the future. Half of the pennies found today are pre-1982, which I save for the copper content. It's very warm and Humid so I called it a day after 2 hours of searching, can't even see out of my glasses due to fogging up (bummer).

Coin shooting/treasure hunting: coins- $2.19; 5 quarters (1981D, 1987P, 1989P, Alabama 2003P, Neveda 2006P), 5 dimes (1973, 1982P, 1994P, 2001P, 2004 Canadian), 1 nickel (2000P), 39 pennies (1967, 1969, 1969D, 1971, 1972D, 1973D, (2)1974's, (2)1975's, 1975D, (2)1976's, 1976D, (2)1977's, 1978, 1979, (2)1980D's, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1987, 1987D, 1988, 1988D, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1996D, (2)2000's, 2004, 2007, 2008, 20??, ????).

I happened to look into the washer next to mine and spotted a coin inside, a nickel.
