Did some Coin Shooting...

Went Coin Shooting to 2 locations, first was the park at the beach. I was gonna search the Tot Lot thats where I saw alot of kids playing there yesterday. When I got to the park I saw another person there with a detector and saw evidence that the play area was searched. So I went to a different area next to a resturant, I have been eyeing that area sent the fall. I did pretty good found $2.03 in a small area (I will search that area again). Also, found the thingy with the #2 must of been something in the center for I can see that there is a small hole on each side. The two items in the center I found a the Elementary school I went to after searching the park. When I got to the school as I was getting out of the car I saw a shiney penny on the pavement. At the school I did find some more coins, I have done pretty good here last season (found .73 cents).

A quick run to the grocery store...

I ran to the store to pick up a few things, especially apples (the MacIntosh is very good this year). When I went inside, I checked the return slot of the coin-star machine saw some coins, 1 canadian dime a nickel, 2 canadian pennies and a regular penny.

Rainy start to a Sunday Morning detecting...

This morning I went out detecting, wasn't raining when I got up but when I got ready to leave I saw that it had rained. While driving down the street it started up again pretty hard, as I was going north towards the lake the sky did look brighter. At the last minute I turned onto my sisters street and went to the park that had the quarter spill. It was still sprinkling so I waited til it stopped than went on my way to do some coin shooting. I searched some areas and did okay, I than stopped in an area next to the baseball field where the people sit not the bleachers, I was digging up pennies everywhere. The ground was muddy from the heavy rain last night and this morning, I did find a Canadian dime mixed in with the pennies (2004) which I need in my coin album. I think I'll hit that area again in the future. Half of the pennies found today are pre-1982, which I save for the copper content. It's very warm and Humid so I called it a day after 2 hours of searching, can't even see out of my glasses due to fogging up (bummer).

Small find for July 20, 2010...

Late last night my husband was due to return home from a long trip home. I was at the airport and decided to get a soda, everything was closed due to the late hour did find a soda machine on the lower level (Hmm, sure do charge more for the soda here). I put the $2.00 in quarters in the machine and push the button, out of habit I check the change return slot and found 2 coins a 1982 penny (goes into the 1982's can, I check later and pull out the ones that are copper) and a 2001 Canadian dime (need in my Canadian dime folder). Being not far from the Canadian border don't find a whole lot of Canadian coins. I collect both American and Canadian coins.

Early morning coin shooting...

This morning I went back to the beach and searched the area I was yesterday. Found some clad coins and some Canadian coins also, one was a 2006 dime I needed for my coin album (I collect American and Canadian coins). I also found a 1956 Wheat cent, been a couple of months since I found one of those. After here I called it a day for I had several errands to run.

Thurday Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning went to the Suburb I was gonna do the other day, not that great. The Town Park nothing found in the woodchips, did find a nickel in the grass on the outer edge of the play area. The ground was also very soggy from the storms yesterday. Went on to the second park down the road from here this place has 3 TotLots, first one is the biggest did find some coins .73 cents the first coin a quarter was found in the grass before I reached the chips. TotLot 2 this one is smaller and a layer of new woodchips was put in, making the finds a little deeper. Did find clad coins .61 cents and a Chucky Cheese 2009 token. TotLot 3 is a little futher away and the same size as the second one, nothing was found here so I left. The third park here in this town I found but not good found one penny.

At the grocery store...

Stopped at the grocery store, while walking in spotted a dime on the parking lot. Inside went to check the coinstar machine but someone just walked up to use it so checked it again before checking out and in the return slot was a dime (Canadian).

8-28-09 Coin Star find...

Today after work I stopped at the grocery store, after going thru costumer service I eyed the coin star return slot and to my surprise there was a handful of coins. I started to get them out didn't care what the people in line were thinking (I know someone was surprised I heard a gasp). Had a good selection, a lot needed for my coin folders and also got 2 silver dimes. 5 Canadian pennies all are 2008's. 5 Lincoln cents 1975, 1984, 1995, 1996, 19??. 6 Canadian nickels 1978, 1980, (2) 2001's, 1952-2002, 2009. 3 Canadian dimes 1978, 1995, 2003. 4 Roosevelt dimes (2 silver 1959D, 1961D), 1967, 2006P. And one 1973 shilling. Oh, and I also found 2 pennies on the floor earlier in the day...

Thursday's finds, not bad...

This morning, I went and moved some stuff on the table to start working and all of a sudden quarters was falling on the table and floor. They were not there yesterday. Than at clean up I found a Canadian dime on the floor, a date (1987) I needed for my album.
