Happy 4th of July...

Did pretty good today, went to 2 schools but the heat was getting up there, so didn't do more. The 1st school was the one I went to last week and did very good, found more quarters and other coins total at this school $1.21. Found out I find more coins in the grass than the wood chips. I will for sure hit this school again along with a lot of others. Also, found a key ring with 2 keys on it was laying on a bench don't look like car keys, one says Brinks #2664 and the other is a little weird looking no words on it, possibly a bike lock key.

The 2nd school has a very large TotLot, but like the other I didn't find anything in the wood chips, in the grass, yes. Found .76 cents and this silver Rover charm.

Tuesday Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning, I had planned to go to a park in another suburb but at the last minute I went to a different area-not a good idea. Four parks there TotLots, the first place did so-so in the wood chips found a whole .53 cents. also found a namco token this is from the 2 playgrounds. This area is so large with baseball, volley ball, soccer areas but the grass was very wet, I'm tired of coming home with wet feet so only searched the woodchips also don't know if can search those areas. The second park, when I got there saw that a construction/town crew was working on the playground, so I turned around and headed to the third location. This third place nothing in the chips, I decided to check under some benches found a quarter. Again, didn't stay long. Went to the fourth and last park of the day. I did dig up two pennies, made it a short search. After putting everything back into the car I circled the tennis and basketball courts to eyeball for coins, found a dime and penny on the basketball court. Should of stuck with the original plan, that will be for the next time...
**Yesterday I got some silver from the grocery store, I always check my change. Found a 1964 dime. Second silver coin in a week...

Happy Flag Day...

This morning went out detecting at two locations, first is back at the beach playground. In the TotLot found a good amount of clad coins but funny thing is not one penny found in the woodchips all are quarters, dimes and nickels. I did search some of the grass area, did find some pennies there. Searched at a soda machine found some pennies and a quarter in the grass. At this park found $1.97. The second park, I searched the TotLot there did very good, usually find one or two coins in the woodchips today found $1.20 at the end of one slide I recovered 3 quarters. After this park called it a day starting to get very warm glasses are fogging up.

Short hunt at the beach...

This morning before the heat hits I went for a short hunt little over an hour, searched the beach playground and a little of the picnic area. Found clad coins and a ring (I believe it's a mood ring, in a band form).

A warm start of the day...

This morning got out early before the heat hits, went to 3 parks/playgrounds. First one okay found .53 cents this park is not in a neighborhood that attracks a lot of kids, was here last year and also found about the same amount. The second place did a little better, come across a penny/nickle spill in one area. Total here found .59 cents also was here last year but found more back than. Than back to one playground did very good here the other week, found .38 cents and 3 bottles to return for deposit that's .05 cents each total of .15 cents. Most of the coins found on the black top under the picnic tables.

Found an Angel in the Playground...

This morning I went to the school were I found the gold ring last year. Did very good, found a lot of clad $2.01 and this Angel keyring she is holding a penny the year is 2004. The second school not so good only found .11 cents. Stopped for the day, humidity was so bad this morning and very warm, all week it's going to be in the 80's.

Wednesday Metal Detecting...

Went to two parks this morning out of the area I normally search, the first one not to good .07cents this was just in the woodchips. The second location did better, but nothing was found in the woodchips. There was a town crew working in the playground leveling the chips, before starting I asked if he wouldn't mind if I searched the area, he said was okay with him. Went into other areas in the park did okay. One worker that was mowing/trimming sounded like he was shouting over at me, than he got into his cart and drove to the shelter behind me, he stood and watched for awhile than proceeded with trimming. I found a cheap ring gold tone, the metal was very light weight. And $1.96 in clad.

A morning at two playgrounds...

Today, I finally got some detecting in, mornings have been way to cold and or raining. Went to the beach playground here I found .65 cents than I went to one more playground this one was the last stop for the day so I spent more time on searching, here I did very good lots of quarters several coins right on top of the woodchips, here I found $2.58 one area was a spill of 4 quarters.

Sunday morning Metal Detecting...

Went to 4 locations, 3 of them Elementary schools. the first place was not the school I had in mind but since I was there I searched the play area found .70 cents by one swing. The second location was not to far from this place, here I found .44 cents. The third school I wanted to go just couldn't find the right road, so I went to the next town to search a park instead. Just before getting to the park I saw one of the schools so I stopped (been here last year) not to good (to clean the one playground was so I didn't bother going to the other side). Got to the park, the construction was done so I searched and found $1.34 in clad, and a cross that has the words God Loves You etched on it. The temp. was getting to warm and humid so I called it a day and left.

Hmmm, Finding Quarters than this Paso...

Figured I try again today to make up for the slump I had yesterday. Went to one location the beach playground, searched for a little over an hour. Found a key about 3 inches down in the grass and this Paso in the woodchips. Also, found clad coins.

This morning I decided to go out, went to 2 parks one at the beach playground here I found $1.34 in the woodchips. The second park I've been to before, that has the soccer fields but mainly detected in the woodchips found .14 cents and after walked around in the Skate park before leaving I eyeballed .15 cents.

Today I went to a park and one Elementary school. at the park I found $1.28. At the school there are 2 playgrounds, the first one I was doing pretty good found $1.20 just about all was found in the grassy area around the woodchip area and the second play area Nah only found one penny. Back hurting pretty bad so I called it a day...

Coin Shooting and a Long Joy Ride...

This morning I went to that park I mention yesterday, in the play ground did find some clad coins (not alot). This park has soccer, baseball and football fields along with picnic areas will probably hit those areas thru out the season. My back was hurting pretty bad so decided to take a joy ride and hoping to find another location. I did, but decided not to stop.

First Day of Spring...

The first day of Spring, I went detecting at one school that has a small playground. Didn't find to much, I did hunt there last year. Today I got some dimes and a few pennies, one dime I thought was silver came out fairly clean but was a 1967, drats...Went to several other schools but there were kids playing at each one so I continued on to the next location. No luck all the kids are enjoying the weather (don't blame them). I normally get out much earlier in the day, this is what happens when I get a late start. Til next time...

Coin Shooting...Beach, Tot Lot...

This morning I decided to go to the beach, there they have a playground large Tot-Lot. I spent about 1 1/2 to 2 hours came out with some clad and the usual trash. I still didn't cover the whole are of the Lot.
