This Morning, coin shooting at two schools...

This morning I went out coin shooting at two elementary schools, on the way to the first location it started to rain. I hoped that it would stop, was light with some fine drizzle was a while when it finally did stop. I didn't find a whole lot but didn't come out empty handed either, found .24 cents one dime, one nickel and 9 pennies. After here, I went to the second school here I did much better found $2.06 and a fancy button. It was 6 quarters, 4 dimes, 2 nickels and 6 pennies. As I was getting ready to stop for the day a young boy came over to me and asked if he could help me dig, I told himm that I was finished and getting ready to leave. He asked some questions so the two of talked for a short time.

Finds for Yesterday and Today...

Yesterdays in was on 3/26/2011, went to MacD's after getting our taxes done. After I ate, went to refill my drink and under the grate at the soda machine I saw what looked like a dark disk, upon looking closer noticed that it was a penny, so I lifted the grate and took it. Todays find was at the Dollar Tree, went to get the usual Sunday paper and while waiting in line to cash out I again noticed a penny, this one was on top of a candy box on the floor level shelf. So I bent down to retrieve that penny. It's been very cold since the last snow fall, has not been out of the 20's so I have not been out to do more Coin Shooting. *********************

Coin shooting Sunday Morning...

This morning, I got an early start went to an elementary school I've been to several times. I did pretty good found $1.55 in clad, two Chucky Cheese tokens 2004 and 2005, and what looks like a puzzle ring has 4 intertwined links, this I found under a bench at the play area (don't think it's silver see no mark and looks like it has small pitted areas).
The second location decided to search a park instead of another school, did pretty good here also. Found $1.12 in clad coins, a childs bangel bracelet and a Red Hot Wheel car #841 on the bottom. Decided to stop for the morning, it's after 9:30AM and starting to get a bit warm.
I drove to the park that has the soccer fest to see if it really is happening, it is and the venders are in the area the lady from yesterday told me. I'm going to get a really earlly start, to beat the others that go metal detecting (hope no one goes tonight).

Some coin shooting before the rain comes...

Went to one of the parks I search a lot, I found .61 cents in the woodchips of the TotLots. Than started to rain some so I sat at one of the pavilons til it stopped. I have to check something out on of the dogwalkers mentioned to me, on the otherside of the bldg/pavilon near some pine trees a safe had been stolen an dumped in that area. Made a swing of 2 rows with my ACE250 the are quite clean. Than I searched inside the fence of the Basketball court and tennis courts found clad coins, I have to go back there for it started raining and thundering (don't want to swing an electronic equipment in a thunderstorm). That is it for the day, have to get a new battery for my pin-pointer battery starting to go wacky.

Sunday morning detecting at 2 schools...

This morning I got up early to go detecting at 2 elementary schools. The first place I've done good in the past but today was hard to get some searching done. I was getting bitten by mosquitoes bad, could even heard them buzzing around my head with the head phones on. It is very shady, damp in that area. I decided to leave that location to go to another school at the mosquitoe school I did find .66 cents , that was for a 1/2 hour of detecting. The second school was much better, I wasn't being attached by those Blood suckers. Found .50 cents on top of the woodchips (eyeballed) and the rest was found in the grass around the building, at this school found $1.76. I'm looking at these schools at where to search along with the play areas.

Got my first Big Coin Spill...

Today is another Hazy Hot and Humid day, went out early and back to the park I was at yesterday. This time I searched an area that had travel trailers parked from the carnival. Found a few coins as I was walking over to the area, than I started getting hits for pennies but all I was digging up was can scraps (bummer). As I was doubling back I thought maybe just focus on hits for quarters, than it happened in about a two foot area I was getting many hits from quarters I started digging up quarters seemed like there was no end got a total of $9.25 in quarters. I think I'll go back there tomorrow, supposed to be another Hot day. Searched for an hour than called it quits because of the humidity.
The newest quarter that I dug is 2007 so I figured these quarters had to been lost in 2008 or 2009 for all are typical dark in color...

Went Coin Shooting at 3 schools, the first one I did pretty good. When I was getting my things out of the car I looked down and saw 2 dimes. Hmmm, Good Luck. Did find this ring right away, it has the words In His Step don't know what metal it is, no mark inside and don't stick to a magnet possibly lead, was found 2 to 4 inches down. Find $1.79 clad at this school. The second school not to good, never done good here found .12 cents. I had planned on stopping at a school I've been to many times, took the wrong road as I was driving thru the neighborhood I come across a mystery school, there was a TotLot so I searched it here I found $1.00 in clad, alot of dimes and pennies. When I got back home I checked the map for that area and saw that it was a High School.

Friday Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning I went out for some coin shooting, it's nice and cool and the sun is shining. Weekend is supposed to get up in the 90's until Tuesday or Wednesday, so taking advantage of the coolness. I went to 3 parks and found very little, first park found .26 cents the second found .56 cents and the last place I searched a little around the baseball diamond I found .19 cents. I wonder at a baseball field/diamond what is the best are to search.

Coin Shooting Very Good Morning...

This morning I went to 4 elementary schools. The first one found some clad coins .56 cents a slow start. The second school did very good, except in the woodchips where I found 1 quarter. The grassy area very good, had about 3 holes that had multiple coins (quarters, dimes, nickels and a penny or two) the total for this school was $2.82 and also a heart w/the name Kim on both sides (looks like it was part of an ornament). The third school was also a bit slow, found .46 cents. and the last place for the day was .35 cents. Called it a day, starting to get very warm and humid.

Thurday Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning went to the Suburb I was gonna do the other day, not that great. The Town Park nothing found in the woodchips, did find a nickel in the grass on the outer edge of the play area. The ground was also very soggy from the storms yesterday. Went on to the second park down the road from here this place has 3 TotLots, first one is the biggest did find some coins .73 cents the first coin a quarter was found in the grass before I reached the chips. TotLot 2 this one is smaller and a layer of new woodchips was put in, making the finds a little deeper. Did find clad coins .61 cents and a Chucky Cheese 2009 token. TotLot 3 is a little futher away and the same size as the second one, nothing was found here so I left. The third park here in this town I found but not good found one penny.

Tuesday Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning, I had planned to go to a park in another suburb but at the last minute I went to a different area-not a good idea. Four parks there TotLots, the first place did so-so in the wood chips found a whole .53 cents. also found a namco token this is from the 2 playgrounds. This area is so large with baseball, volley ball, soccer areas but the grass was very wet, I'm tired of coming home with wet feet so only searched the woodchips also don't know if can search those areas. The second park, when I got there saw that a construction/town crew was working on the playground, so I turned around and headed to the third location. This third place nothing in the chips, I decided to check under some benches found a quarter. Again, didn't stay long. Went to the fourth and last park of the day. I did dig up two pennies, made it a short search. After putting everything back into the car I circled the tennis and basketball courts to eyeball for coins, found a dime and penny on the basketball court. Should of stuck with the original plan, that will be for the next time...
**Yesterday I got some silver from the grocery store, I always check my change. Found a 1964 dime. Second silver coin in a week...

Early Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning got up early so I could get out and detect. Went to 3 parks, the first one I found coins one are of the Tot Lot found several quarter, dimes a nickel and penny. This park found .79 cents, 2 pennies found on a picnic table. The second location is a small park, didn't find a whole lot but did get more pennies at this location a lot of them pre-1982's, found .27 cents either there isn't a whole lot of people that come here or someone else searches. I also found a very small key about 1" Long (the design of this key looks like the one from Key Bank). The third and last location for the day, is a park not far from the mall here, this place really need time to really search but today only found .11 cents. At the second and third location a police car showed up, they pulled and than shortly they were gone...

Coin Shooting and a Long Joy Ride...

This morning I went to that park I mention yesterday, in the play ground did find some clad coins (not alot). This park has soccer, baseball and football fields along with picnic areas will probably hit those areas thru out the season. My back was hurting pretty bad so decided to take a joy ride and hoping to find another location. I did, but decided not to stop.

Cold and Dreary Coin-Shooting Day...

Needed to get out to detect, yesterday was a beautiful warm day but was without a car the other car was in the garage and my husband needed mine for work. So went out today was alot cooler with rain coming in, I beat the rain and went to 3 parks. First one was around the corner from my sisters house, the grounds were still very wet but did find .91 cents thats when I stopped there to search another park. The second park didn't find to much but did find this wheatie under a baby swing it's a 1948. At this park I found .19 cents than I decided to call it quits for the day. But at the last minute I hit one more location not far from home is a Recreation Center but there too it was way to wet, in the area around the playground equipment did find .21 cents.

Coin Shooting for the day...

Today was fairly nice out but with heavy frost this morning making it a cold and wet morning of Coin Shooting. I made this hunt a shorter than normal one, went to one location did manage to get some clad. My Pro Pointer started to act weird with it's alarm sound (Ooops, battery going) so I changed it and continued for a while longer than called it a day. Not fun walking around with wet shoes and socks.

Coin Shooting...backyard

Coinshooting, is gonna be another part of my finding money, with a different tally.
Today, I got the bug to go out and search our yard, our house was built in the early 1920's so I hope that there is history on the property, especially in the coin part, LOL!!!! if not at least I'll be having fun.
I belong to a treasure hunting club and today was our monthly meeting, this is what got me motivated. Was not at the search very long when I came across 2 clad coins, they had some ware especially the penny that looked like it had a run-in with a mower.
