Coin Shooting this morning at two parks...

This Morning I went Coin Shooting at two local parks, mainly checked out the Tot Lots. These places I have been to many times the last couple of years. The first park is next to my sisters house, when I got there I see that some changes have been made, part of the wooded area has been cut down and the park extended. The search here has produced .57 cents 3 dimes, 2 nickels and 17 pennies and a button. I searched for about an hour.

I then went to the second park, also searched for an hour. Did pretty good here, found $1.42 and a couple of buttons. Found this $1.00 coin which registered a strong quarter on my ACE 250, when I dug it was about 2 inches down next to the parking lot at first I thought it was a quarter but than saw that it was a little larger thats when I saw that it was a $1.00 coin. Than I got 2 quarters, 1 dime, 3 nickels and 7 pennies from this park.

Went Back to the Park at the Beach...

Figured I search the area near the Carousel, different grassy area. Found some clad coins and another President $1.00 coin (Thomas Jefferson 3rd president 1801-1809) 2007P. After a bit I went a little into the sandy area, while searching around a large tree I spotted a Dragonfly sitting on a stick (he was rather large compared to the ones seen flying around). I took the stick with the insect sitting on it and lightly touched it to the tree, it raised a leg and walked onto the bark. Didn't want it to get stepped on and it was still in the sunshine (probably trying to warm up). Wish I had my camera with me when I saw that. Soon I will be getting back to my drawing, something to do in the winter...

The Heat is on...

Today and the next 3 days gonna be in the 90's, right now it's 90. I went out coin shooting early and to only one location, the beach. I searched the Tot Lot, found a good amount of coins and also car keys on the ring is the device for the car alarm. One car key is for a Volvo the other for a Cadilac and the key for the fuel key and some other key that says Hillhan Y159 on it. the other attached ring has 6 keys the look like house keys. As I got close the the sand an saw 3 guys working with their detectors, they are members from the club I'm in. I'll stay in the Tot Lot and grass, plus there is shade. Found a lot of coins including another President $1.00 coin, John Adams 1797-1801.

A Very Very Good Day

Went out detecting at two elementary schools this morning Did Very Good today. At the first location found a lot of clad and also this President coin James Madison (1809-1817) 2007P and the amount of clad at this school was $2.28. The second school and last one for the day I did VERY good. Here I found 2 more $1.00 coins Susan B Anthony 1979 and a Sacagawea 200P and the clad was far more that I did in one location, or in any location coins I found here is $5.16. One quarter looks like it lost a fight with a mower, alot of the dimes and quarters where found about 4" down. Also found these two rings, the band looks like a mood ring earlier in the season I had found one similiar, the one with the blue looks like it is silver but don't see no mark. Both of these rings where found close together in a small kickball field at the school. This was the best day in finding coins that I have ever had.

Stung twice by bee...

This morning I got a very early start went to the school that gave me the $1.00 president coin the other week. Found nothing in the woodchips but did find a lot of clad in the grassy area, found $1.94. Than I decided to go to the school that gave me the silver earring hoping to find another but that's when I got stung, felt something moving on my shoulder than OUCH!!!! when I got home saw that it was twice. So, called it a day.

Finally, back in the mood for detecting...

Went to 4 elementary schools this morning, even thought the humidty was high I did pretty good. The first school was awhile I been to and knowing another person searches here also, saw him there last year. I found another US $1.00 President coin this one was of George Washington 1st President 1789 to 1797, this makes the 2nd $1.00 coin this month. Also found alot of clad coins $1.76 . The second school not to good, here I found only .27 cents in clad. The third school also did good, not much in coins only .46 cents but did find this silver earring in the grass about 4" to 5" down. The forth and last location for the day was not good only found .12 cents. Was getting very warm so called it a day.

Found a President today...

I know this is not an old coin, sure everyone that goings detecting probably has gotten one of these but this is the first US dollar that I found while Metal Detecting, was found under a swing. It's a 2010P. This and clad coins was found at the beach playground, this was the first stop for the morning, also found a watch that goes on a chain it's the shape of a star and a picture on the front possibly Hanna Montana (it's keeping good time). The second park did pretty good found $1.08 in clad (gotta check the grassy area next time I go there). The last place for the day this park only found .06 cents. At home when I went to mow the back yard found a penny in front of the gate.
