This morning back to the beach...

After I got my things out of the car and went over to the TotLot to search that before moving on the the other part of the park, first coin found was this 1946 nickel next to the swings. Did find some coins in the woodchips and in the grass. Behind a bldg at the west end of the park next to the bath house I come across another coin spill like the other day but this was pennies. Looks like the people at the business dropped the pennies than swept them into the grass, all were found in the grass on top of the soil (saw the way the grass was raked down). Was at least 50+ pennies, did find the 1936 wheat penny with in the bunch. Starting to get very warm again, even the sweat band I'm wearing isn't working to good, so called it a day and went back home after a couple of hours detecting.

Coin Shooting at 3 locations...

This morning I went to the beach, a bit earlier. The events that were there yesterday are there today also. Not much people there at 7:00AM, so I searched the playground again (yes, the one I saw the old gentleman last Sunday searching.) Right away I found 2 quarters and a dime, my ACE's bells went like crazy. I came out pretty good, got a $1.09 at that location. Well the people started rolling in a little after 8AM so I started to roll out about 8:30AM...Went to another TotLot again have been to this one several times, found nothing in the woodchips so I searched the grass on the edge of the parking lot, got 2 pennies didn't want to leave empty handed. I plan on searching that area a bit different, there is a sledding hill not far but would like to have another person with me, can't see it from the parking lot. I will search the grass around the area of the playground...This afternoon I again searched the house next door, found out that house is about the same age as ours, early 20's. I came out not bad, .37 cents and two of them wheat pennies...

Coin Shooting/treasure hunting: $1.48; 3 quarters (1988P, 1993P, Colorado 2006P), 4 dimes (1988P, 2001P, 2002P, 2003P), 3 nickels (1939, (2)1999P's), 18 pennies (1941, 1958 wheats, 1967, 1971, 1972, 1974D, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1989, 1993, 1994, 1995, 2000, 2002, 2006D, 20??).

Sunday's Treasure Hunting...July 12, 2009

This morning I went to the beach, instead of searching the Tot Lot (did that the day before) I started finding coins on top of the sand only a couple I had to dig, which was still wet from the storm the day before. When I was done, I put my things in the car turned to look at the people in the park and there was this older gentleman searching the playground, so I walked over to ask what type of machine he was using. He told me it was a metal detector, Huh yeah I know wanted to know the name, was a Garrett I believe a 2500 told him I had a 250 and that I was in this play area yesterday. Got back to the car turned and he was gone, guess he didn't like the idea I already searched there, LOL!!!...

Coin Shooting/treasure hunting: .58 cents; 2 quarters (1986, New Hampshire 2000P), 1 nickel (1985D), 3 pennies (1946 wheat, 1962D, 1989).

Got permission to search the house next door, today was the first day I started searching. Under the big tree in the back yard about 6 inches down I found a railroad spike, took some digging to get it out. Also some coins 5 of them older. Will do the yard again when the new owners are not working on the house.

Coin Shooting/treasure hunting: .22 cents; 1 dime (1989P), 12 pennies (1927, 1937, (2) 1942's wheats; 1945, 1981 Canadian; 1964, 1978, 1982, 1984, 1989, 1990).
