First Day out Metal Detecting...

Today is the first day back to metal detecting since the weekend before Thanksgiving, man it's been a Loooonnnnggggg winter and gonna see some more snow flurries beginning of next week. Here is the tally for today. Went to a park that I didn't know had a Tot Lot and it was way to wet in some areas, didn't do to bad. Did find a 1956 wheatie that is the oldest coin for today...

Stopped at Several Schools this Morning...

Got up bright and early, well maybe not bright very cloudy today. First school I stopped at did good, have been there twice before, found a 1941D nickel need it for coin album. I know someone else searches here have seen him a couple of times, guess he hasn't been here for a while for I got $1.75 in clad. The second location I have eyed for awhile, finally got there and didn't do to good only found .22 cents and the third location also was no good, found nothing. Went back to the areas I have done and know there is coins, searched popping up quarters school did very good found $2.35 in clad and a lot of it was (you guessed it) quarters.

Cut Short by Rain on November 19, 2009...

Went to the Beach/Park this morning is a forcast of rain for the day, when I got there searched near the area the Fast Ferry used to be docked didn't find to much compared to the picnic area finds. Also found a key looks like it be for a house.

Coin Shooting for the day...

Today was fairly nice out but with heavy frost this morning making it a cold and wet morning of Coin Shooting. I made this hunt a shorter than normal one, went to one location did manage to get some clad. My Pro Pointer started to act weird with it's alarm sound (Ooops, battery going) so I changed it and continued for a while longer than called it a day. Not fun walking around with wet shoes and socks.

Busy Morning Coin Shooting...

This morning I went to many locations, didn't do as good as I thought I would. First location an elementary school not far from home, the most I found here was 2 beer cans for deposit and .16 cents in clad. Well maybe the other places in the next town will produce. The second elementary school had two playgrounds the first one gave me .72 cents in clad and the second playground .21 cents in clad. While on my way to find the other two schools I spotted a large park so I turned around and searched there, they had a pretty good size TotLot found .77 cents in clad here. Will have to return here in the future, have several sports fields that can be searched. The fourth location school had about 4 TotLots, managed to only find .02 cents and the last school TotLot managed to find .37 cents clad. These places made it a not so good day, possibly someone searches these areas.

Friday the 13th finds...November 13, 2009

This morning was another very cold morning, in the low 20's BRRRrrrrrr!!!! I went to the park I did yesterday hoping to find another silver, no luck. In the past I found Military items, 1 Army looks like dog tag, 1 Navy Blue Reserve coin, 1 Marines pendent these 3 I didn't find at this location, today I found 1 Air Force pin in this park. And a ring inside has the word India. Something like a disk/coin the size of a nickel and the thickness of a nickel and penny together, has the state of Florida on both sides. And a lot of clad.

Found a silver quarter...

This morning was quite cold in the 20's but went out anyway. First park I went to was around the corner from my sister's house, searched near a tennis court and found a 1964 Washington quarter, going back to that park tomorrow a spend more time in that part. Also found $1.79 in clad. Wasn't ready to call it a day so went to the soccer fields and spent a little over an hour (boy are those fields HUGE!!!!) found one small flat metal asian dragon, 1 junk earring, a pin that says Town of Ajax By the Lake have no idea where that place is, something that looks like a large bullet without the casing and a $1.76 in clad.

Schools closed today...

Today the schools were closed for Veteran's Day so I decided to search some of them. The first place was a new location for me, found a pin that said Senior Distict Softball the pin on the back was bent and also found $1.15 in clad. The second location, I've been to before did very good the first time so tried again today did even better, found a small metal heart charm and $1.88 in clad. The third and last place for the day was another school I have been to before, did good here also found a watch face without the band at the bottom of a slide still ticking a hot wheel size jet plane and $1.59 in clad.

Gloomy, Foggy and Drizzle...

This morning was very Murky after the rain from yesterday. I did go out for some coin shooting to 3 locations, first place not to much found .38 cents. The Second place was back to the area that the IH was found, didn't get anymore but got several quarters found .96 cents (am finally understanding my ACE 250). Hit a park been there once before, didn't do to good .12 cents not including one unusual looking penny it's half the thickness of a regular penny no rim the weight is 1.6g is pre-1982 it's a 1966.

This morning I went to 3 playgrounds, two of them are a first. The first one I came out with $1.66 must be one never detected or been awhile, second playground have been to several times only got .13 cents and the last one for the day is the one I backed out of doing yesterday got the courage to hit it today, came out with .91 cents not bad for a Tuesday morning...

Seven being a Lucky Number...

Today is trash day, I got up early and took the can to the curb while walking down our driveway I spotted something shiney and round, when I got up to it I saw that it was a nickel (starting the day out good). After I came back from a errand I brought the can back up, thats when I found a penny in the same area as the nickel (I know the neighbors constantly park in our drive, I believe the change came from them. Hey, finders keepers). Later this morning I went to a local park to visit the greenhouse conservatory and take some pictures for future drawings I'll be doing when the weather changes. I got back to my car as I walked around the back I spotted another penny, that will make a Lucky Seven...

This Morning two Large Tot Lots...

Went out this morning was cold frost on the ground, temp. was in the mid to high 30's. Searched this area for about an hour an half, got some but believe I would of done better at the beach/park...

Car trouble so hunted back yard...

Got up early to go to the beach for some metal detecting, noticed my husbands car was still in the drive and mine was gone (that meant his car wasn't starting, again). So, I decided to hunt the back yard haven't done for awhile. Think I did pretty good, got my first religous metal (silver says Malco Sterling on the back) came out of the ground clean and an old pin with a picture/print of young girl (picture is done in the stipple technique). and some coins 2 are wheats and the dime 1965 I missed by one year for silver. Plan on hitting the beach tomorrow for sure...

This morning I got up early and went to try another new place, turned out not to be as good as yesterday did manage to find .24 cents. Tot Lot #2 was even worse .03 cents and the last place managed to get .01 penny. Have to look into some new places.

Town Park double Tot Lot finds...

This morning about 6:15AM I went out of the city to a small town west of me, there is a double playground both are pretty good in size. One is geared to smaller children and the other for older and that is the one I did better in. Got a 1947S nickel that I needed for my album, that was found in the area for older children. Todays finds were very good compared to other times and places, Found a Disney charm of Dumbo in the older lot and in the lot for younger children a really small piece of chain, when I got home I saw that there is a real small cross attached to it...

Today was a Bummer...

To start out it started to rain, I did go to the beach was there for a very short hunt (rain). I did find some kind of tag on the front was 3:16 and the back read "He Loves, He Gave We Believe, We Live." that was the only thing I found at the beach. Than went to another Tot Lot, was at that one once before got nothing (skunked). Than I went to a local park they have 2 playgrounds I went only to the small one, did finally come out with a whole .03 cents. I called it a day, this is the worst one I have had in awhile. Next weekend I have plans to hit a area that has 2 large Tot Lots next to each other, til than HH...

Visit from the Penny Angel...

Yesterday, I come across this site http://www.pennyfinders.com/, has some interesting stories. I was thinking about this Penny Angel last night and some this morning. This afternoon we stopped at WalMart and after checking out I spotted two circles on the floor each was about 3 feet apart, when I got over to see I was surprised to see a dime and a penny. And walking out to the car I spotted a penny, my husband says I should walk the parking lot to find more (I know he was joking with me for he's not into this hobby). But when I find alot I say who's laughing now, hehehe...
